Windows 2000 - Security Policy

Hi,

A friend has just given me a laptop, which is frankly ancient at 400mhz, 64mb ram... Its running Win 2k Pro, and during boot it gets stuck on "Applying security policy", I can get it to boot fine in safemode, so does anyone know how i can completely remove any security policy's that are in place?

Used to have the same issues with an armada e500. Best bet is to put the lappy in standby or hibernate instead of shutting down.

I don't think he wants it stuck in safe mode.
