hello,

I have a MS Windows 2003 server domain which holds the user folders, amongst other things. Within the user folder there is a personnel folder which the user should only be able to read and run.

For some reason it has automatically altered the security settings so that some users have full access. If I view the settings they are grayed out so I am unable to change them!

Does any one have any idea how this happen of how to resolve the problem?

Thank you,

Dave.

In that case you will either have to remove the permission from the parent directory to which the permissions are applied, or remove permission inheritance on that folder.

Indeed, there's a check box to block inhertated permissions.

But why would it suddenly change? I am sure that the folders were correctly set up. Oh, well guess i'll have to go through them all.
