No, not extracting the urine (I've seen the threads on this and I know the answer)... but....

I upgraded from Windows XP to 32 bit W7 a while back and some games then ran really slowly. I thought it was just memory, so upgraded from 2gb to 4gb but the games in question are still slow. Is 64 bit likely to be faster.

One of the games in question is Dragon Age Origins - ran like silk in Windows XP on 2gb, runs like a dog in Windows 7 on 4gb...

And yes, I know 64bit is better, but the thought of reinstalling unless I *have* to..... especially if it might not help.

I honestly doubt changing to the 64bit version will make a slightest bit of difference to the speed of this game unless you can see that when playing you are using all 3.xx gig of the ram available in the 32bit version.

The game will only be using a maximum of 2GB anyway, so adding more won't make much difference. Your problems could be due to drivers or the game simply may not like running on Windows 7.

I would probably reinstall anyway as 1: I would get all my 4GB of RAM [and be able to add more in future], 2: there may have been a problem with your current install that doing a fresh install may fix and 3: It doesn't take very long - especially if you already have backups etc.

Interesting - why would it not detect the extra 2gb if I put it in after the installation? I'm sure it says 4gb in the system display...

Oh, and lots of people don't seem to have problems on Windows 7 with this game from what I've read, which is why I'm at the clutching at straws stage :(

It will know there is 4GB RAM installed. But it wont be able to use all of it. At most it will be 3.75GB, less if your graphics card has a lot of memory.
