Windows 7 64 bit multitasking

Hi guys, I've recently moved to W7 64bit and when I'm installing a program (GTAIV) at this moment in time, when I try to do anything else the computer seems to die. It took about 5 miniutes for device manager to come up so I could check if caching was enabled on my HDD.

Anybody else noticed this or found a fix? I found a few google threads but nobody providing a soloution

It also seems to run a bit better when it has "warmed up". I'm on the second disc now and it's running quicker :/

I don't really know what I'm doing in event manager to get an accurate reading of a problem. I think you could be on to something namnoc, GTA IV has a securerom protection on it so it could be something to do with that.

I'll have to test it when I install something else.
