Hi,

About to upgrade from Vista 32bit to Windows 7 64-bit and just want to know if anyone has had any problems with their camera's not being reconised in a 64bit OS

I have a Nikon D50 SLR and a Canon SD1000

Would hate to reformat and realize that i can't get either of my camera's to be reconised by windows.

Any advice on the above two cameras working in a 64bit enviroment appreciated.

no idea, i dont plug my camera in difectly as its too bloody slow (canon 400d). get a card reader and the problem goes away. and its quicker lol

Another vote for a card reader from me.

After I started using one because of the snail's pace download speed from my old 300D, my current cameras have never been plugged into the computer.

Really? My 5D is a Mk1 and it works fine.

That's weird, I always just get the "dun dun dun" or Windows not reconising the camera. I've installed the latest EOS Utility and tried both PC Connect and PTP on the Camera but still nothing. I'll take a closer look as I just thought it was incompatible.

I can confirm x64 Win7 Pro recognises both the 350D and the 40D without any issues :) (though I haven't tried all that growse has above).

No problems whatsoever with Win 7 bit.

Installed the disc that came with my Canon 50D, programs installed flawlessly and camera worked perfectly the first time it connected.
