I've had a friend come over to install a brand new OCZ Agility 3 240GB SSD drive everything went fine until we installed the drivers. We've tried to install windows 7 64bit like 5 times on this SSD, but every time we install the Graphics card drivers on the hd radeon xfx core 7850 windows freezes, every single time. If I don't install driver windows runs fine on SDD.

My mobo is Mobo is asus p8z77-m.

My friend couldn't even set boot on the mobo. My other 1tb sata hdd wouldn't even show up in my bios for booting.... I'm having so major problems and need help badly

I have no idea what to do next.

My friend just went home and now I'm stuck, I have no idea how to fix this?

I wish I knew someone near london in bucks area to help me fix this issues?

Buying this SDD was a bad idea:(

You should update the SSd to the latest firmware and your mobo too! Sounds like a faulty graphics card to me tbh. Was the card working previously?

SSD

You need to flash the firmware, get the latest one from manufacturers site, make sure you get the correct firmware.

You might need to do the same for the motherboard.

If you can get into the bios make sure to set the your motherboard from IDE to AHCI mode, as ssd needs this to work properly.

Install only the ssd first, you can add the hdd, graphics cards etc.. later.

Graphics card

Try 12.4 or 12.8 ati drivers.
Make sure the you are disconnected from net when installing , as win7 has a habit of forcing it's own drivers.

Make sure to get ccleaner and drive sweeper to clear up previous attempts at driver installs.

Try different pci port to see if you have a duff card.

Try another graphic card to see if motherboard is duff.

Try leaving it till the morning, Fresh look at it make help.

I have the latest bios on my mobo, just installed it yesterday. I haven't installed the fw on the ssd yet? My friend thinks the graphics card doesn't like the ssd? I'm screwed really..I have no idea what to do? I'm still new to this stuff. we tried everything for 7 hours and nothing?

edit. the card works great in my 1tb sata hdd, but the min I put those xfx 7850 drivers in after reboot windows 7 freezes. we've install w7 like 8 times with same result

can you use ccleaner on ssd? I might have to find someone to do it for me. I would mess it up. I'm too much of a noob.

Yeah just make sure you don't defrag it, if it's a decent program you can set it in the menu, if you can't disable it don't do it whatever you do.

Updating your SSD firmware and then your mobo BIOS should be the first thing on your agenda.

My ssd fw and mobo bios are up to date and still having problems?

Everything's fine now. what worked was I took off all drivers and re installed them and also I have the ssd in sata 1, it has to be in sata 3(didn't know that until yesterday) also took new amd drivers off the net first, after that booted no problem.

Dude.... I freaked out yesterday.....I saw my friend doing it so many times I'm like a hardware man now..lol I learned a lot after this.

Thanks for the few people that did at least help me:)
