Hi all, I've just installed the x86 version on my laptop and I'm quite impressed. I haven't used 7057 but a lot of the flaws from 7000 seem to have been ironed out, such as the User link from desktop going to libraries, now goes to the correct user folder. I'm not too keen on the new login screen, but I can live with it. Currently installing software onto it and I'll see how well it runs. What are your views on it?

Using 64 bit - best yet! Internet Explorer 8 runs click fast. Where will it all end? - screenshots of 7070 are out (keznews) and build 7072 is in use

I've used several builds starting with 7000 and working up to 7068 as of yesterday. It (7068) is the best build yet by far imho. There are some nice tweaks and improvements and overall usability is much improved. They still have Games lumped in with Computer and Network on the start menu, but I'm sure that'll change as builds progress. They could also do with setting the user folders (eg Username, Documents, Music, Downloads) into alphabetical order too; Downloads currently appears at the bottom of the list which doesn't feel or look right.

About the only 'actual' problem (the above are purely cosmetic) I find still apparent is that I can log IN to my FTP from Explorer, and then download files, but it won't let me upload any. I just get an error about not being able to log in to the server. I did submit feedback on this in build 7000 (when FTP wouldn't log in at all) but I can't do that now.

"Oh, hai! I'm running leaked build 7068 and I founds bugz!!1!"

Overall though it's a brilliant OS and way better than Vista (or, what Vista should have been ;)). I have it on most of our PCs and laptops now, as well as my family's lol Interestingly, my sister's Fujitsu laptop (1.7Ghz Celeron M, 1GB DDR2 RAM) struggled to run Vista Basic. Win7 7068 Ultimate flies along on it even with Aero enabled.

Now I've been using it a bit I do seem to be having issues with local network access, but I will have a look at that when I get home. Switched the laptop hard drive back to the main one for now (build 7000) but will keep posted how I get on. Anyone else had local networking issues? (No issues for me with 7000)

If I've got 7000 and want to try 7068 (or newer when they're available), do I need to wipe and reinstall or can I install over the top keeping my documents, Programs etc??...

When I went from 7000 to 7057 it gave me the option to upgrade install.

So you will be able to do an upgrade install over 7000.

I've done an upgrade from Vista SP2 beta and also Win7 7058 to the latest leaked build and both went fine. There is no apparent slow-down (quite the opposite actually) and all seems as good as a clean install so far.

Been using it since the leak day, Creative distortion bug has gone since this build dunno why that is. All is working perfectly & much better than the last builds.

Really loving windows 7 :)

Been using it for the past couple of days now, seems a lot more snappier etc..., and the iq seems to be a bit sharper as well to me, im impressed, especially considering its still only beta (had no crashes or anything, nor with the 7000 build), and the upgrade was a breeze, tells you what won't work before you start it (so tells you to remove it), so for me it was only my gfx card drivers, then once its done in about half an hr, your desktops back as before, and your games and everything else etc... still work, so just pop back on what it said would need removing and your away. :D

Can't wait for the final, going to be another breeze just upgrading to that.

So a bit late to the party, have codes but where other than MS can I download this from please?

Such information would likely earn the poster a suspension or ban. Look around, it's not hard to find. Think about the places you'd go to download stuff that isn't on mainstream release...

EDIT: Damn you, bledd :p

3rd oops in 3 days,, must be a lot more careful.

I don't use those kind of sites, in fact avoid them like the plague so I guess I'll wait to download the rc from MS direct when it arrives.

You don't have to visit the type of site you're talking about, there are other places and ways.

On a completely unrelated note, since we're all chatting; has anyone noticed Giganews are offering a 10GB trial for new Usenet users? You can download 10GB of stuff direct from Usenet and cancel if you don't want to keep the service, at no charge. Pretty good if you're into chatting on text groups or downloading Linux install DVDs. Anyway, have fun waiting for the RC.... ;)

Does the 'Use until' date extend when going from 7000 (August) to 7068/70 (when ever)???...

Yeah. Later builds are set to expire on 02/03/2010 (not sure if that's US or UK format?). The very new builds (>7070) are said to be legit up until the middle of 2010, as will the RC. :)

PB seems to have problems with Windows 7 as it's still a beta Evenbalance aren't supporting it. Is that likely to change once it becomes a RC opposed to Beta?
