So I just bought an ASUS D1 PCI 7.1 soundcard. Which is lovely and works fine. However, I have noticed that if I look in the Sound properties, whenever I use some applications on my PC that use sound, foobar, vlc, MW2, the bar-graph doesn't register any sound.

It just stays like that; however, if I play a youtube video it shows the bars jumping up and down recognising sound. Skype makes it jump, clicking test makes it jump. Window media player does too.

Issue I have with this is I can hear sound in MW2 but I can't record it using Fraps or xFire.

Any ideas?

The sound issue you have is to do with the "GX" function in the Xonar Audio center. Turn it off when you want to use fraps to record, thats the only way

Every now and then the audio starts this stupid tiny lag delay and crackling noise. Anyone else experience this?

I've disabled onBoard, uninstalled the windows drivers. Installed the lastest drives for my card, but still the same issue.

It isn't always like it, just every now and then, quite often, periods of slightly laggy sound and crackling. Any ideas?
