Windows 7 apps keep installing in compatibility mode

I jsut noticed applications keep installing and the shortcuts (on the compatibility tab) keep getting run as admin and vista SP2 compatibility options set

this only happens on one W7 machine and not the other...

apps effected are itunes(64 bit latest download), outlook xp, mcrappie AV...

obviously i can change the option but its my friends PC and as he installs new apps the he will not know how to change the options...

(he had all sorts of odd things happening on the PC and I think this is the cause)

That's weird. I did some Googling and I couldn't find anything about Windows 7 always using Compatability Mode. Can your friend remember doing anything to do with compatability before the trouble began?
