Hi all,

When I put in my USB flash drive or hard drive, no autoplay menu comes up. I've checked the autoplay settings in control panel and autoplay is enabled for all devices and media. In the autoplay settings, I've noticed that the only device listed is a digital camera and not the USB flash or hard drives, even when they are pluged in they don't appear. Any ideas?

Thanks :)

Auto-Play: Enable

Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services/Shell Hardware Detection/Return this service to Automatic.

Start/Run/Gpedit.msc/Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/System. Check your settings in the right pane for Turn Off AutoPlay (and modify).

Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet\Services\Cdrom. AutoRun = 1

Service is set to automatic and is started. There is no "turn off autoplay" setting in Gpedit.msc and the registry setting is set to 1. Not sure what is wrong.

It is weird as it used to work. Its not just the DVD drive, when I plug in my flash drive I used to get the autoplay menu asking if I would like to run portableapps. Dont get any autoplay menu now no matter what usb drive I plug in, or DVD.

Woo Hoo, I got it to work. You was almost right optitech-uk:) The setting in gpedit.msc is in Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/AutoPlay Policies.
