I was just wondering what those of you using windows 7 have found to be the best/even just working anti-virus software. I ask because I use symmantec end-point protection on all my PCs and when I tried it on windows 7 it is not compatible, so before retail comes out I want to find out what will work so I can get a copy of something good.

Thanks for your help guys.

I can recommend Mcafee AV 8.7i - we use that at work at the moment and it works fine with Window 7 Beta's we have out in the field - Firewall (HIPS) is another question - this just blue screens the machines...

If your sensible enough and know your way around the interwebs then theres usually not much of a need for an AV. It just depends how comfortable you are knowing that you wont get your system infected.

For nearly over 2 years, I've not encountered a virus on any of my systems but I still run an AV as it takes up little resources.

Agreed, sensible helps but it can still happen and like you said its doesnt take much system resources.

Half the time I fix a machine that didnt have AV they have a virus..The usual response, "oh did I?"
