windows 7 backup ?

can anyone tell me if windows 7 has software to do a complete system backup of the pc and operating system to dvds or another hardrive?

thats good then , what type of dvds should i use as i would like to put my complete system backup onto dvds , would any dvd-r be ok?

thanks will get myself a portable hardrive , although i do you a have spare internal hd that i dont use ,or would it be best to have the backup external?
