Windows 7 build 7077

My friend has just installed this but has come across a problem where it take minutes to boot. Unplugging his IDE HD solves this. He's tried different jumper settings on the HD which makes no difference.
Any ideas how to sort this out?

i tried the 9.3s and they installed fine, not tried the 9.4s over the top yet
I went back to 9.3s in the end, after a lot of fiddling to get Windows 7 to recognise the card. Had to get Windows Update to install the pre-release 1.1 driver and then could install 9.3 again.

i had to end up just uninstalling ccc after 9.4 to stop it forcing 1.15v through my card.. wondered where my sudden overheat on graphics card come from while idle :/

7077 seems slow at transfering data from HD to HD compaired to Vista. Also iMon drivers dont work so well - so those with Antec Fusion need to watch out - I can't operate volume with remote - when I pluged in another IR reciever all was fine.

Another bug is if you have an external drive it stops windows from going into sleep till u unplug it.

Upgrade took about 20-30 mins for me, and all i had to reinstall was my gfx card drivers, its a piece of ****, can't wait for the Final to come out, no more ******* about reinstalling everything, just upgrade, reinstall card drivers, and jobs a good'un.

Yeah its a doddle the upgrade, it goes through your previous version and tells you what won''t work first before you start it (ive got games and allsorts on mine, and it only came back with the catalsyt drivers) so you just uninstall those and then set it away, i went from the 7000 beta to 7068 and im just gona stick with this version till the RC in May, as its running great.

Mind you, the beta ran great for me as well, but i was just curious to see an updated version. :p

loadsa, ms have said that we won't be able to upgrade from beta to final/rc..

And I fully understand their point. Loads of us have been fidling with and tweaking with various upgraded Betas for months, the last thing they want is for their RC to enter testing ontop of thousands upon thousands of different setups full if god knows what issues and tweaks. The rC needs to be a clean fresh slate so everyone starts of at the same point and if there are issues with the RC, then it can be definatively an issue with the RC, and not have to worry about it just being a remnant issue left over from the countless Beta upgrades the RC is installed on.
