I am thinking of moving from Windows XP Pro to Windows 7 so that I can make use of more RAM.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the versions please?
Should I get Ultimate, Pro etc etc?

Note that the amount of RAM you can use has nothing to do with Windows XP vs. Windows 7, but 32-bit vs. 64-bit. Whatever you upgrade to, make sure it's the 64-bit version if you want to use 4+GB of RAM.

I'd vote for Home Premium x64 too :)

I'm running Pro, but that's just because it was a gift - if I had to spend my hard-earned on a copy, it would be Home Premium :)

Office 2003 - Yes [though in some cases you will need to copy the CD contents to a directory on your PC, and run the setup from there. Done this twice now. First time worked from CD, second time needed me to copy it to HDD].

CS2 - It should work.

Running home version here. Such a huge price gap between different version, for no real benefits. Only reason to go for other versions is if the features help with your job (ie you run multiple networks, or have money to burn).
