Windows 7 - can I use it on a different PC?

Hello,

I have installed Windows 7 on a new HDD on my current (P4 / etc) PC and I think it "self registered" (Activated). BUT it doesn't work properly and some software wont install, so I am going to buy a new PC for playing with W7 with the idea of installing W7 on it when it is released in a year.

Can I install the downloaded copy of W7 again on a different PC (same HDD but different m/board) ?

Anybody done this?

From what I understand Microsoft allow 5 activations on the Beta so you should be fine

yeah,you can install the same beta download on up to 5 pc's with the same activation code
