Windows 7 - cataylst drivers needed ??

Hi,

Just did my install of windows 7 last night and my 4550 in my HTPC seems to jsut work perfectly fine without the ATI drivers and software.

Just wondering if it is really necessary, it is just for watching films and tv etc and not for playing games,

they might enable hardware acceleration of HD decoding, which theroretically will bring temps (and therefore noise down) - but you'll want to google that.

It certainly can't hurt to install them.

I dont think you can get 720p 50hz PAL and different HDTV resolutions without installing official drivers. You dont want to be watching your TV at 60hz.
