Basically the title says it all. When i try to start up my pc it gets to the starting windows screen and doesnt go past there. It doesnt BSOD or anything like that. I tried a clean install and it loaded a few times but its started to crash again. Anyone know how to sort this problem??

Are you overclocking? If so try at stock.
Run Memtest86 to check your RAM.
Try a different boot drive if possible.

That's all I can think of to try at the moment.

Full spec may help.

Im overclocked but its done it on stock settings before and i cant run memtest when i cant get onto the pc :-P

specs: i7 930 2.8 @ 3.6
6gb ram
ati 5970
P6TD mobo
windows 7 64bit

dont have a spare harddrive so i cant try installing it on a new drive to see if my current one is damaged.

My first thought would be to try installing on a different HDD, if re-installing doesnt work. See if you can get a cheap one, or get a spare from a friend.
I dont see why you cant run memtest though, as it only crashes when it gets to Windows? Unless you dont have a copy of memtest to hand and therefore requires you to get into Windows in the first place. See if you can get it from a friend, or from a library computer or something.

It stops on the splash screen. But the icon is still movin. Got it working for now by disconnecting it from the mains for abit but its happened quite a few times and someyimes takes hours to fix. Guessing it could be the harddrive so ill try mem test first and if it carrys on then new hard drive it is
