Not sure if this is the right forum for me to be posting as it could be a number of issues, but i figure this is a good place to start.

I've just recently built myself a new pc and i'm haing an issue when booting up Windows 7, after the fancy little animation of the windows logo on startup my monitor goes blank and nothing happens, so in effect i don't get to see the login screen, it's quite frustrating as it's been working a few times (managed to put my drivers on and bioshock >.>)

Any help is appreciated, thanks
Chris

During POST spam the F8 key. You should get a boot menu with Safe Mode as an option. Select it and hit Enter. Does Windows boot now?

Any ideas? Tried a few things now, scanning memory, and whatnot, we thought it might have something to do with ExpressGate as that isn't installed properloy, but we can't get windows on to install it correctly.
Aside from that, we're not entirely sure, it could have something to do with the updates i installed, as i had it working before that.
I have an ASUS M4A79xtd Evo mobo

Thought i'd throw a bit of an update this way, dunno if it still applies to this forum, but i'll update it anyway.

First of all, Express Gate is now on successfully, so that's no longer an issue.
Next, it appears to be that there's an issue with the graphics drivers, as when they're installed it won't get past the windows animation, but when i take em off, it loads up fine.
I'm using Windows 7 64 bit, so if anyone has any ideas what's happening, or how to fix it, gimme a hint, it's quite annoying now >.>

Which graphics card and drivers are you trying to install? I assume you have made it into Windows in normal mode now?

yeah i can get into windows normal mode now, without the drivers.

i'm using a Radeon HD 5850, and i'm trying to install the 10.2 catalyst suite, i've also tried installing the 9.12 catalyst suite, but that had the same affect. My dad reckons there's some sort of driver conflict, but none of us know where >.<

Just downloading the 10.2 hotfix know, and i'm hoping this will help it work >.<

I've decided to wipe everything off and start again as if i've just built it >.>

I'll reinstall everything one by one and see where it goes wrong, though hopefully it won't
