I have a problem with my Windows 7 Pro disc (Retail version) which has a chip on the discs surface and is causing install problems. Now i have here Windows 7 Home Premium disc (Retail version). Now are windows discs standard as do they have all versions on the disc so could i use the home version but use my pro key which would install windows 7 pro?

If not anybody have any idea how to get a replacement disc from microsoft? as i can't seem to find anything on the microsoft site.

OR make an .ISO image of your Home Premium disk, remove EI.CFG and you have a W7 disk that lets you select any version from one disk.

I Have all Windows 7 Versions as ISO's on my PC
From Starter to Ultimate and all those inbetween for OEM, Retail & Volume. 32 & 64 bit
They are all taken from original DVD's as Im a engineer I need access to all versions for my repairs etc...

I could have any of them ready for download if you request so or could burn one off for you and I could post it to you?
Free no charge for the blank DVD used

Do this

Use imgburn to create an ISO of your dvd that works.

Then use this ei.cfg removal tool on your ISO and reburn it to disc.

Now during setup, you'll have the choice of which version to install

Your key will only work with the correct version

Many thanks, will download an iso first then if not use the home edition with the mod.

Thanks again for all your help :)
