Just installed Windows 7 90 day trial and was suprised to see that in device manager it has recognised all of my hardware and everything is working fine, so do I really need to install chipset drivers etc?

I will be installing the latest ATi gfx drivers.

Thanks

Nige.

ATi graphics drivers are the only ones I've installed. I did check the Asus website for Windows 7 drivers for my old 939 board and couldn't find any, so I'm sticking with what Windows installed.

Yep, the great thing about Windows 7 is that it should have standard motherboard chipset drivers installed for you so need not have to worry abput those.

The only other things you may need to do manually yourself is onboard sound and/or onboard Ethernet LAN drivers which the likes of Realtek or your motherboard maker's main website should provide.

this is the same for me my shuttle, but what happens when nivida/shuttle release new ones? do we upgrade or wait for windows update? will windows update have chipset drivers?
