Windows 7 does not shut down properly

Hi all, I recently bought a "Titan Kript" machine with Windows 7 64bit and an nVidia GeForce 460 GTX.

The problem is that it rarely manages to shut down properly. It arrives to the vary last screen, then it shows "shutting down" and the circle spins but it never shuts down. At the next boot, it will say that Windows has not shut down properly.

Anyone else has this? Several years ago it was pretty common under Windows... Please note that I have scarcely installed anything, but I do have quite a lot of USB peripherals. Hardware wise, the only other change has been the installation from the beginning of a PCI wireless card.

Cheers,

U

It will be a process that cannot shut itself down. You will need to investigate whether it is a device (USB as you have suggested) or a running process in windows. use task manager to see what is running and selectively stop a process before closing down.
