Im looking for the Windows 7 iso. Ive looked on the microsoft site and it only goes back as far as windows 10.

Is there anywhere i can legitimatly get a copy of the iso to install either from a DVD or a USB stick?

Microsoft has officially ended support for Windows 7. It will no longer get software updates. Microsoft has also removed the ISO download link from its website. Now, you cannot download Windows 7 ISO from the Microsoft's official website.

However, you can still download Windows 7 ISO from third party websites. But, it's not recommended, as they may be unsafe to use.

Yeah thats what i meant i dont want some dodgy download.

Not really bothered about no updates as its for an old i5 2500 build that wont have internet connection. It will only be used to install the X-Fi card which no longer works correctly on Windows 11 so i can carry on recording myself singing lol

Genuine question but why 7? I’ve used it lots of times in the recent past admittedly but if something supports 7 it almost certainly supports 10?

I have 32 and 64-bit ISO images of Windows 7 SP1 Media Refresh, the Ultimate edition.

ISO filnames are:
X17-59463.iso - 32-bit
X17-59465.iso - 64-bit

Ive installed 10 earlier today but for some reason the What you hear input isnt available. It should be, but its not. Several driver reinstalls have been tried so want to try 7 next.

Have you tried the Daniel K drivers? They're third party but I'm aware of plenty of people using them on W10/11 to run X-FI series cards.

Hi yes thats what ive been trying. Theye been great on windows 11 up until this 24h2 update

Install a pre 24h2 version of Windows 11 and keep it offline?

So far Windows Update Blocker, though does mean relying on 3rd party software, keeps Windows from updating itself even if you go online - in my experience the only software/tweak which fully does so.

In this situation though I think MeatLoaf should consider updating their hardware/software approach (i.e. audio interface with effects) for what they are wanting to do - though I appreciate they've got a setup which works and are familiar with it, etc.
