Windows 7 Driver Update

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if there's an application on Windows 7 that scans your hardware and either tells you what drivers need updating and/or gives you the places to download the latest drivers for each hardware. As someone managed to install Windows 7 over XP or something like that and now can't detect the internet card.

Microsoft update does it. This means Microsoft have approved the driver as WHQL.

But how will Microsoft Update work, if the internet doesn't work to begin with due to missing drivers? Thanks

ah, that's after the network works. Open the PC, get model of motherboard and Google it.

CPU-Z or Speccy should give you motherboard info.

You can use an app called CPUZ to get the motherboard model but again will require Internet Access.

Tell the guy to take it to someone who can fix it rather than try to explain how to do it.
