Hiya all,

Designing a new thin client solution for a client using the Intel NUC...

As the unit is going to be a fully managed thin client, performance hardware is not needed.

The NUC I have chosen is the Intel NUC BLKDE3815TYKH0E Intel Atom Single Core Barebone Unit...

I have built our test unit using this NUC and it performs brilliantly as the unit is only being used for RDP to the server.

The specs are as follows:

Intel NUC BLKDE3815TYKH0E Intel Atom Single Core Barebone Unit
2GB DDR3 SODIMM
32GB SanDisk SSD (cheapest available)

Now for the QUESTION!!!

CAN I ditch the SSD and use the onboard 4GB eMMc storage for Windows 7 Embedded (Thin Client) image??? Will 4GB be enough???

Drivers are not so large but thats the question as I would love to ditch the SSD, save some money and push up the profits a little bit.

Thanks

Cinderz

was basically a big fat NO!!!

Intel said it can only be used for linux installations which sucks as I have my Win 7 E 32bit down to 2.7gb installed.... nevermind... will have to still use the ssd options then...

cheers

The NUCs are really cheap to be fair, less than 80 quid... but its a fully managed client.. so it connects to our RMM system and we can monitor the NUC/thin client and the RDP session in real time... its the way it is designed.
