just wondered if any had any of these prblems

I've got the same problem mate. It appears there are a lot of people effected by this and other little niggles. There are quite a few threads about it on various forums. I had Kaspersky installed but that wasn't my problem. My personal opinion is that there is a hardware conflict somewhere, and it isn't Win 7 directly. Our of interest do you have P55 chipset?

Interestingly you error log is slightly different to mine - mine errors out on the HD compression tests. But I don't have any issues with my hard disk.

hmmm yes i do have P55

its weird

it did used to work and rated my ssytem all around the 7.4 mark! ( except hard drive which was 5.9 as its 7000rpm)

i know tis only a windows gimmick, but it annoys me!!!

i may try the repair feature on the disc...... dno if i can be bothered to do i full system reinstall.

PS

i let windows download a driver for my intergrated lan chipset, and it stopped working! and i had to reinstate to old driver! so just a heads up not to let it download it, its an optional download anyway!

I had a completely blank experience index screen and fixed it by enabling Performance Control Panel in the Registry. I guess it might solve these issues as well.

You just need to delete the relevant key - google it.

i cant run the experience index on win 7, not that i really care though.

But i know that there's a known issue with Kaspersky 2010 and the experience index, i have read they are working on a fix for the issue with Kas2010.

Mine worked when I was running with a different chipset/motherboard. As soon as I upgraded to P55 it has refused to run. Might be coincidence of course. I presume yours has worked since you installed P55?

Yes you might be on to something! I also let Win 7 download a lan driver for my system, which promptly failed to work. I had to reinstall the one suppled by my motherboard manufacturer, but the point is I can't recall testing the experience index prior so I don't know if that is an issue or not.
