Windows 7: Fixed Windows Experience Index?

I know its not a proper benchmark, but lots of people still tend to run it haha. Used to get quite rubbish scores if Im being honest, but just ran it on my install of Windows 7 Professional and managed a low of 7.3!

It normally ends up around 5.7 so have microsoft been messing around so it actually gives out more realistic results?

Always seems abit dodgy to me.
I have almost exacly the same results as you, except i have a 5870, and a C2Q Q9300 @ 3ghz.

And my 2HDD's in raid0 are 5.9.

It'll take quite a long time for me to gain any faith in this as a benchmarking tool.

My WD Black Edition only a 5.9 apparently, this is in AHCI mode so fully up to spec

CPU is 3.71GHz though and RAM is at 1:1

My 2 F3's in raid0 only get 5.9 too.

My lowest is 5.9 for the hard drive as well. Tho my GTX 260 only gets 6.3 compared to the 7.2 above. But im still running the RC on oan oldish drive as i havent installed the retail one on the raptor yet

Are all those 5.9's running windows 7 or somthing else? I used to get lower scored like that but like I said, just installed a copy of win7 professional and its giving decent results lol

in vista, the max is 5.9

Seems in W7 all HDD's scores are 5.9 regardless of whether it's a single drive or Raid drive.

I think only SSDs can get into the 7 territory with this. My WD Black is also at 5.9.
