at home, you?
ok so i will start with what iv setup

1 x win 7 home premium machine set up with folders shared

multiple other machines on wifi (doesnt matter which os so far)

1 x win 10 laptop sees it fine, other machines do not (even after a fresh install)

this is in my workplace where we backup machines regularly, so i have shared a folder to which im moving data most days, which is on the main win 7 machine, folder sharing is obviously enabled, removed password protected sharing so i can just open it no matter what machine im on (works at home so should be same here) they are all on the same network location, have tried work and home locations on any of the systems iv tested, to no avail.

so..all machines see this win 7 machine when on lan, but not wifi, not come across this before, anyone have any ideas why it would be seen on lan but not on wifi?

Ok, so what is the network topology? Is it one flat subnet for both wired and wireless clients? How are the wifi clients connected (dedicated AP? router?)? Are you using a hardware firewall on your network? What "network location" is set on both the wired and wireless clients (public, private)?

Finally, what is the OS of the wifi clients, are they even Windows?

basic netgear adsl router, normal cat5 for any wired machines no hardware firewall

tried machines on the same network locations (swapped network locations to match when swapping the main desktop location)

all machines iv tried so far are windows machines, vista and above, only 1 so far finds it on wifi, and thats a 10 machine

can you ping the win7 pc by ip or name?

try entering the ip adress in the run box of one of the wifi connected pc's

ie
\\ipaddrees\<sharename>
