Windows 7 Freezing

I built my current pc just before Christmas and all has been fine until the last week or so. I started coming back to the pc to find it had frozen at the desktop, this progressed on to freezing when opening apps and has finally got to the point where it doesn't pass the Windows loading screen (where the Windows logo pulses). I can still get in to safe mode.

I ran Memtest 86 and got 0 errors, reflashed my graphics card to stock but had no improvement. I then reinstalled windows and the PC began working again for a few days. Unfortunately this hasn't lasted and its now freezing at the loading screen again. Any ideas what's gone wrong?

I would grab the diagnostic program for your HDD and run it before going any further.

My hard drive passed the Seagate Dos test wizard.

Sounds like over heating issue to me, I would pop the case side off and make sure all fans are working and the cpu heatsink is clean of fluff dust and hair, hover and a long bristled paint brush does the trick.

All fans are working and mobo is reporting normal temperatures

Could still be a heat issue, even with normal temps. Are you overclocking at all?

Still not managed to fix this, managed to get into Windows and it was showing a USB controller with no drivers, it wouldn't find any and when I tried to uninstall it the PC crashed.

All my USB devices work and I have 2 other USB controllers installed with no problems.

It doesn't show anything apart from critical errors caused by unexpected shutdowns.

run cmd , sfc /scannow - checks for corrup system files attempts to repair

create a new user account - maybe user account is corrupt

download whocrashed http://www.resplendence.com/whocrashed analyse dump files

This would be my next advice, leaving it running over night.
