windows 7 fresh install for dell

hi

ive just got a new dell laptop and im thinking of doing a fresh install as i dont want all the dell bloatware.

do dell provide a windows 7 disc as all can find is a disc that says dell drivers and software?

also is it a easy procedure , as in would i need to install drivers for all the hardware?

Hi, If that is a new laptop, then you should have the option to make a backup disc.

Make backup/restore disks using the Dell software and then reinstall using generic/unbranded Microsoft media, wiping and combining all partitions (inc. the restore partition)

windows 7 installation is indeed easy and you can get all drivers from dell website for your laptop

yes indeed, why go to dell, why dont you buy win 7 from windows dealer???

if you have to ask both of those question you would be better off uninstalling the dell crap, rather than reinstalling

I'm sure dell still ship discs, but if you dont have them or the backup option you could try and speak to dell
