Windows 7 gets its first bug!

Not to burst your bubble or anything but it is still in its beta phase, so bugs are bound to appear. I'd be more sceptical if none appeared at all.

W7 is out of beta and is in RC stage. All major bugs should have been found and been ironed out by now, with just a bit of tweaking left to do.

I dont think people are going to be up in arms about it, it's not a big bug by anymeans and I've never seen any software that was 100% solid.

Is odd it got this far without being noticed but maybe it was caused by something else they've added.

win7 still has the disappearing DVD drive that vista has had from day one.
would have thought that would have been fixed ages ago even in vista never mind win7

What is so funny about one bug? Please don't say you are one of those people loyal to XP and find this an excuse to stick with good ol XP...

Absolutely not. I <3 Windows 7. I'm just keeping the W7 community apprised of its flaws as well as its accomplishments. I find it pretty amazing that such a simple thing has been overlooked. Thats all.

I noticed this ages ago but never realised it was a bug, thought it was just another security feature to be honest.

Isn't that exactly what this is? A small bug that just needs a tweak?

I'd agree with that. I have to say you have to be fairly naive to expect any given system that is large enough to need more than one person working on it to have no bugs. Especially a pre-release system that was released to the public with pretty much the express purpose of finding bugs. It shows the system is working, if nothing else.
