Windows 7 getting stuck on booting

I have a virtually brand new PC (6 weeks old or so) and I am having problems when trying to boot after the PC has been switched off. It continually gets stuck just before the windows login page. I get a blank black screen with an active mouse cursor but nothing else happens and the system does not load any further than this.

This issue also happens after the computer has been put in 'sleep' mode

Restarting the PC via the on off switch sometimes gets it going again but other times it needs 3 or 4 goes before it will boot up properly; alternatively I have to boot the PC in 'safe mode' and then restart before it will load normally again.

I have had this problem this since getting the PC, but now it seems worse than ever.....

I have tried running windows update, I have tried loading the fail safe settings in the BIOS (opposed to the over clocked settings) and I have tried setting up a clean boot via msconfig so that only microsoft services load. I have run check disk function and I have also tried running the system start up repair function via the windows 7 operating disc.

I have enabled boot logging and the following errors happen:

I'd say re-install the OS. If it's new, you hopefully won't have much on that you need to keep.

thanks for the replies. Unforunately I have all my college work and some personal files (approx 150g in total) which I transferred from my laptop hardrive (the laptop m/board fried itself).

I've also got plenty of progams installed, Adobe PS, DW etc. ms office.

It has been suggested to me that this could be a hardware fault as well?

It is going to be a pain the the neck if I have to send this back for repair or reinstall everything from scratch. :(

From http://www.sevenforums.com/performance-maintenance/7824-delay-boot.html

Installed fresh copy of Windows 7 build 7100 x86 and there is long delay in boot sequence. Just windows logo animation shows and there is no activity around 1-2 minutes. Then Windows just start up without any error. Anyone know how to check what should be wrong? Previous builds was ok.

On ntbtlog.txt just found:
...

Problem fixed - changed in BIOS SATA Type from AHCI back to Native IDE.

Hope this helps, andy.
