I have some sort of weird yellow tinge to my screen, i installed windows 7 pro (full version) and then went to the nvid site and got the latest drivers for my 9600 GT (win 7 64bit) i have also tried using the two sets before, but the bright screen comes back, when i uninstall the drivers it reverts back for a time before doing the same :(

Guessing by the fact that it looks normal to me it'll be either your gfx card or monitor settings.

yeah i just uninstalled the driver and got my screen back only to see the picture looking fine! lol - so not sure why it keeps reverting back as right now it's in 1600 x 1050 and looking as crisp as anything on my samsung 2032bw

dunno what to do with this one as each time i reboot i get the problem, then uninstall the driver, try either the windows update one or the nvid one and then the issue will come back...

Have you tried lowering the brightness and calibrating?

not as such, as it varies each time i boot or make changes, so that leads me to the view that when it is working it's perfect and then when something happens (god knows what) it goes super bright and flaky.

I'm not sure where to turn at the moment

Flaky? as in artifacts or distortion?

If yes, then it seems like a hardware problem to me. Either a broken cable, monitor or graphics card.

Edit: also, Go to Control Panel > Devices & Printers. Double click on your monitor's icon, go to the hardware tab, and click properties. Then go to driver tab. What driver is being used?

i dont think anything is broken as it's working fine until i reboot, then once i reboot and uninstall the driver its fine again...

then once i reboot and uninstall the driver its fine again...

Leave the driver uninstalled then?

I have the same problem with Samsung drivers. They mess up the colour profiles. You should be using the default Microsoft Generic PnP driver.
