Hi,

my prblem is when i delete this file via cmd using "powercfg -h off" it deletes the file freeing up 4gb space, however when i reboot it is automaticaly recreated.
I have also deleted and disabled via the power option through control panel, again 4gb is gained, but after restart it is there again.

can anyone help me out?

Thanks,

Phil.

hmm, do that command and then run the disk cleanup wizard (cleanmgr)

tick the system files option, there's an option to remove the hibernation file, that should keep it at bay after doing the powercfg thing

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. However when i run cleanmgr there is no system files option that i can see, hence the option to delete hibernation file. I have the option to delete system restire points and program files, plus the usual highlighted on the first page.
