After changing from XP to Windows 7 Im having a lot of difficulty getting my PC to recognise my PS3 as a member of my home network and allow it to access the internet through shared connection. I have edited the local adaptor settings to allow sharing and tried everything else i can think of, except allocating static IP addresses because i want to avoid doing that if possible (caused problems on XP).

I have searched the net and the only ray of light is that i need to stop Windows seeing the PS3 connection as an unidentified network so that i can rename it and change from Public to home network, but i can not figure out how to do this.

Someone else must have sorted this by now. Anyone?
