Hi,

I've already got Windows 7 Home and Pro on pre-order at the cheapest pre-launch prices however I'm starting to think that maybe Pro is a bit of a waste for me.

Basically I'm already running the evaluation copy of Windows 7 and have a licensed copy of VMWare workstation which I use to run Windows XP in and all my backups are automated using batch and vb scripts that I've written (which back up all my data to another partition which I then periodically copy to an external drive).

Seeing that the main additions in the Pro version are backup and Windows XP mode is it worth me getting Pro or should I just cancel the order and just use Home?

If you've already pre-ordered it for the cheap price I wouldn't bother faffing about now. Pro includes all the features of Home (which wasn't the case with Vista) so you're not missing out.

As it's pre-ordered at a decent price I'd keep it, I got pro partly for the backup as it's pretty handy and saves me faffing about with Acronis or Ghost again, do that enough at work!

I'd keep it because you pre-ordered it for a very good price. You can then do what you want with it - use it, keep it for future use, or sell it. If you chose to sell it, you're bound to make more than you paid for it :)

Ive pre-ordered for W7 HP full version (retail) cos it so cheap and I dont need any more features in Pro or Ultimate so HP is enough for my PC
