Once windows 7 is installed and all updated does 53gig of used space sound right?

i got a new system from oc with this od installed and its currentlu saying 53gig of space is been used............

cheers.
sorry for seeming thick here but what am i looking for with regard to system restore and how do i check that?

if you need to run disk clean up go to start, all programs, accessories, system tools and then you will see disk clean up there, make sure windows update clean up is ticked

if you disable system restore make sure to clear out all the old restore points as well as they take up the space

failing that you can use tree size to see what is using all the space and its free

how much ram to you have as that will be your pagefile which windows takes off your hard drive and you could disable hibernation which will save 5-10gb of hard drive,

to turn it off go to cmd run as admin then powercfg -h off hit enter then reboot

you want to keep the page file and just reduce the size.

I have my min set to 1024MB and a max of 2048MB. I have 6GB of ram and this does me

pagefile now reduced also applied the microsoft hibernation fix to get rid of that which was taking up 8gig. i also like the treefile software that is very handy :) so at the moment i have saved over 20gig of space.
