Windows 7 Impressions

Has anyone managed to get more than 2 speakers working through their XFi soundcard in Windows 7? Even thoguh I've set CMSS3D to stereo surround exactly as I do in Vista, it still only plays sound through the front 2 speakers instead of all of them. I have set the Windows 7 sound options to 5.1 aswell as configuring the XFi console.

Continuing to enjoy!

Games perform well, System seems sloid enough

Just set up media player, took an age to scan for channels but got there in the end,

Subtitles and teletext finally work in Media center for digital channels !!

Has anyone had problems with having to re-activate Vista once Windows 7 has been installed on a dual boot?

A friend called me to say he had to re-activate his copy of Ultimate when he booted back into it after playing with Windows 7.

The current official drivers are not developed for windows 7 and thats why the CMSS3D doesn't work etc.

I'm having terrible bass distortion with them and windows 7 x64.

Perhaps the nice and good dev's at creative will release beta drivers, eventually.

I stay in Vista and will upgrade to SP2 -- Im now less using PC and spend lots with my hearing dog also help hearing dogs for deaf people more... it good to spend with dog rather than sit on computer.

so Im now less using PC in every few days - and I leave Win 7 out and Im wait for Windows 8 due from 2012 if W7 is release this year - good luck with your new OS when it come out and let us know how are you getting on -- see if there any change or any impress,etc..

Anyone else finding their net slowing right down occasionally since moving to W7?

Here's what im getting now

Usually it's about 6,500 download minimum.

I'm seriously impressed with 7. I never really had a problem with Vista but I'm begining to see it failings namely with it's network transfer speeds, which are shocking when compared to 7. Overall system performance is improved greatly over Vista....I'm sold on that part!

The new taskbar takes some getting used to but I think it's well thought out.

Had a few issues but working through them, sorted out the SM bus issue, using compatability mode with intel inf drivers.
So have no errors in device manager. will be testing games soon, big one I hope works is my G25, if that dont its back to vista for me.

Hi, you didn't have to use compatabilty mode at all, at least I didn't. Just download the chipset drivers, unzip them then perform a manual driver update for the smbus update pointing it at the chipset directory. No other devices in my hardware manager at all. I did the same with another unknown device to do with Asus A1 drivers...
