Windows 7 install from USB

ok so my friend has just built a computer and needs me to put windows on it but last time I went and tried it was like "we cant find any drivers" and wouldnt install anything. I think this might have been becaue it was corrupt

I've redownloaded windows 7 so it shouldnt be anymore

my usb has been

clean
create partition primary
select partition 1
active
format fs=ntfs

then I just extract the iso to the usb and it should work this time right?

Have i got it all?

I just want to make sure 'cause he lives quite far

It should work but i tried it and it didn;t work for me. There is a tool which does it better though:

no once the USB is bootable jsut copy the windows 7 DVD onto the USB, I have several of these for Vista as well...

change the format to quick if you can...

I'm sure you need to extract the iso and not just put the raw iso on...

I see what you mean, grab magiciso (i think) a free prog that lets you mount the iso as a virtual DVD, then you are gtg

The tool I linked does it perfectly. I used it to put Windows 8 on with no hassle.

Indeed, i use the official Microsoft tool it's far simpler and does everything for you.
