Finally got my grubby paws on a copy of Win 7 Pro yesterday, installing it tonight and all is well until I install the drivers for my 4770... When I reboot after installing the drivers the OS freezes on a page that looks like the default Win7 wallpaper but in letterbox format... I have no mouse or keyboard control (but they are not locked out - lock key lights still toggle as do the dpi adjustment lights on my mouse

I've installed windows more times than I can remember and this is the only time I've had major driver issues :(

Can anyone help me out?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds really strange, How a GPU Driver can have any effect on your other peripherals.
In any case, Is it possible for you to boot up in safe mode?

You should attempt this, and uninstall your GPU Drivers, seems really odd how it could be the drivers.
Does your motherboard have on-board display? You could use that instead (for now).

I used windows 7 once, and it didn't like my GPU drivers or my sound card drivers, and I couldn't be bothered to download the updated versions, I returned to VISTA.

No, no onboard GPU on this mobo... Turned out it was something to do with the Catalyst 10.10 drivers that my system didn't like!

Gone back to the 10.9's that I was using with Vista and all is well :)
