Hi,
I currently have 2 Vertex II 60GB SSDs attached to an older Adaptec PCI-X raid card. I also have a 1TB WD Black drive in the same machine.
It seems the machine is slowing down, especially when accing the Black drive (2 sec pause or more) and so I am thinking of rebuilding.
What I would like to know is the best setup to have using one 60GB SSD and the 1TB Black in this machine (the other SSD will go in my NAS server).
I have seen the guide about moving the program directory on to the Black drive and keeping the OS on the SSD but what about mounting the Black (or a partition of it) on the program files directory on the SSD rather than having it as a separate drive.
C:\: SSD (OS)
C:\Program files: Black part 1 : Programs
C:\Program files (x86): Black part 2 : Programs (32bit)
C:\Temp: Black part 3 : Working area
My current install is everything on the 2 raided (raid0) SSDs and comes in as around 100GB.
The machine will be used mainly for games and general internet browsing / email.
Thanks
RB
