Does is wipe your your hard drive, is it worth backing up all my programs on my computer to a memory stick or something? Windows 7 type: Student £30 HP Edition
You can select in the set up whether you want it to format your hard drive. I booted from the Windows 7 disk and it gave me an option so I wiped it clean.
I've always found upgrading a previous OS causes way too much agro in the future and always best to do a clean install.
All the drivers you currently have installed yes but on the Windows 7 disk they do have most drivers on there so it should pick up most common hardware anyway. Unless you have something very new or very old I would expect it to have most drivers.
Just go through your main hardware like chipset, graphics, sound and download them onto a USB drive or something just in case but I'm pretty sure you won't have many problems.
