Windows 7 installation question.

Hi just bought a win 7 dvd which says "reinstalation dvd only on a dell pc". Seller says it will install clean new win 7 on any machine. Is that right or is it only reinstallation on dell pc?

To be honest I have no idea.

But thinking about it it could be locked down to Dell hardware (motherboard?). I don't know - I personally wouldn't risk buying it but since you bought it it would be worth a try :)

I help out on the dell community forum, and I can tell you that it will put a clean copy of Win 7 on your HD If your system is a dell, then no need to input your COA, but if your system is not a dell, then a COA is needed.:D

Do you have a valid windows COA? If so just torrent/other the .iso for your version of Windows and burn it to disk. My laptop didnt't come with a Windows disk, and with 32 bit installed so I just torrented w7 64 bit and installed it.
