hey guys,my new pc is due to arrive tomorrow and im trying to decide what OS im going to use....the pc is mainly going to be used for gaming and general internet stuff,so should i install windows 7 on it?i heard there was issues with drivers being installed? do most games work? thanks

Unless you have a rather old computer, with old components, the driver support might lack.
Only thing iv had difficulties with was a microsoft webcam driver (which confused me) but other than that, the driver support if anything is better than vistas.

How'd you work that out? I have an E8600, Biostar TPower I45 with ICH10R chipset and GeForce 8600GT and Win7 found drivers for my rig just fine. If worst comes to the worst, you can always try Vista drivers - most will work.

Gaming is fine, pretty much everything that works on Vista will work on Windows 7. There were some issues with Punkbuster games, but I think for the majority that's been fully sorted.

Drivers wise, pretty much everything is covered, motherboards, graphics cards and all those types of drivers are normally already sorted and easily downloadable. You might have issues with some things like older web cams and other accessories but that's about it. Best thing to do is go through things you have and search for drivers on the manufacturers website.

ok thanks a lot. i know COD4 punkbuster does work but cod2 doesnt,oh well i just wont play cod2 for now........il buy some dvd's tomorrow and burn windows 7!

Had no problems with any games and Windows 7.

Spent quite a while trying to find a driver for my usb wireless adaptor, but got there eventually :)

don't want to make a new thread for another windows 7 issue so showing it hear. i have 2 monitors for my desktop with win7 on it. i often switch off (but still attached) the second monitor to save energy if it's not being used. the only downside to this is that windows still open on the second monitor. in xp i would right click and select move and then my mouse would snap to the title bar and i could drag it to the main monitor, however in win7 i can't seem to find a way to do this.

i do know of the windows key and direction arrows shortcut but that isn't exactly what i'm after as the window is then resized and not as easy as i'd prefer. any solution to this "issue"?

I'm having driver issues with Win 7 64-bit. I've got a Canon Pixma Pro9000, but the device is unrecognised when connecting. There only seems to be drivers for vista 64 and xp 64. I mistakingly thought the vista 64 would work but no. Any ideas?
