Windows 7 "LITE" Antivirus

Just upgraded my vista laptop to 7 as it was too sluggish, its a i3 2.3 with 2gb ddr on 64bit win 7 ultimate.

I do have a KAV subscription but was wondering if there was anything free which did a decent job while having a small memory/cpu usage footprint.

All my clients use in on my recommendation and they don't come back with problems related to spyware/virus/trojans. Infact I install it for them before they get there PC back and tell them not to bother with Norton/Mcafee!

MSE, plus upgrade it to 4gb

Another great upgrade is to get an SSD for it. I have a 30gb SSD in my netbook, it flies along nicely now

+1, if you don't have a NVidia/AMD GPU in it then the i3 will be using a nice chunk of the 2GB of RAM you have for graphics memory.

MSE used it for years without a problem. I check pc and laptop every so often with other av just for piece of mind and it's always clean

Panda Cloud Free version,very low on ram etc..also has better detection rate then MSE, infact no real reason not to use that or Avast,AVG over MSE IMHO.
