Windows 7 locking up

Hi guys,

My system locks up from time to time, usually within 24 hours. It just freezes, no blue screen, no warning message, just freezes and stays like that. Open windows will stop moving, such as videos, sound will stop and mouse will become unresponsive. Just happened when windows was locked and I was in the bath too.

I updated my graphics driver, network driver, may try updating sound driver too. Have tried adding more voltage, ram is stable, overclock is stable.

Never had this problem before so I'm confused! Can't work out what triggers it.

Spec should be in sig.

edit: I have tried at stock settings for both ram and cpu.

I know you said the Overclock is stable but might be worth trying it at stock settings just to see if the same thing happens. If it does then I would check the RAM with Memtest and go from there.

Yeah sorry should have mentioned that I have tried at stock settings also. I tried with the ram and CPU also on auto default settings and still locks up. I'm thinking it has to do with a driver or software problem or some sort. Usually with ram I will at least get a memory dump or blue screen. I can give memtest a go tonight anyway though.

Anything in your event logs, which may give some indication to the problem.

You could also try a restore, go back to a time before the freezes started and check to see what software or drivers will be affected.

I don't use restore points, I guess if it continues I will reinstall windows but I'd rather not do that lol. I'm wondering if it's to do with my soundcard drivers, I'll have a look at event log too next time it happens. :)
