I've just managed to import all my music albums into my new windows 7 machine but am having some problems.

I had all my music arranged into folders according to album with a jpeg saved as "folder" to act as a front cover.

Now the windows 7 media library seems to be doing it's own thing with the files. It's splitting up whole albums into various compilation albums for each tune and half of them it wont even recognise.

This is when I choose "arrange by album" as the view to try and get the icons to look like album covers on my machine.

Am I doing something wrong or is this just the way it is ?

I wont use itunes for the same reason of not recognising or not ordering things properly.

Any fix on this would be great , cheers.

I havent "borked" them with anything. I spent about 6 hours ripping all my CD's and naming them properly myself and downloaded every single piece of album art manually labelled each one "folder" so as to give the folder the appropriate artwork. It all worked fine in XP.

They work OK if I set it to "folder view" but they have that crappy open folder icon with the artwork sandwiched in-between.
What I want is the large album art icon that you get if you choose "album view" but without Windows arranging it all as it pleases and messing up the album composition.
