Windows 7 Mirrored drives in disk management missing.

Hi All,

I have windows 7 premium and have some empty disks that i want to Raid1(mirror).

The problem is I only get Simple, Spanning and striped options.

The disks are stand alone and not Raid'ed already, just blank stand alone disks, however they are on a storage controller card.

Any ideas?

I guess this Windows 7 Ultimate only?

I assume you're trying to create a software RAID?

Why not just set up the RAID using the RAID configuration utility, Ctrl-I during POST when you've set the Intel SATA controller to RAID mode.

I have an LSI raid controller card, but i was just tring to exclude raid failure out of the question too and maybe use windows7.

But then i guess one would have to worry about windows 7, future reinstalls and newer versions of Windows...
