windows 7 multi install

Are you looking at RC, Retail or OEM.

If it's the latter 2 then you can only install on one machine, one license per machine.

Yep as above licence key for both same disk can be used obviously.

Do bare in mind that to go from the RC to retail at a later date will require a clean install.

Microsoft will be selling a family pack, which gives you three copies of Windows 7 for £150. However they're 'upgrade' copies so you'll need to have three licenses for XP or Vista already.

Otherwise you'll just have to bite the bullet and buy a copy of the OS for each machine you want to install it on.

Do you have a link for this upgrade?

If you wish to install Windows 7 on two machines, then you will need to purchase two copies of Windows 7.

There is a Windows 7 Family Pack which will be out on October the 22nd. Though, they're upgrade licenses which require you to already have a previous version of Windows installed as already been mentioned.

I want to provide a couple of updates for my friends in Europe today in regards to Windows 7.

I want to start off with an update to our plans for the Windows 7 Family Pack. As I mentioned last month, starting with the launch of Windows 7 on October 22nd, customers will be able to buy a Family Pack in the US & Canada. This allows users to install Windows 7 Home Premium on up to 3 existing Windows PCs for a reduced price. It’s an easy and cost effective way to get customers entire household on Windows 7.

I can now tell you of several more countries that will have a chance to take advantage of this great deal: the UK, Ireland, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands and Sweden. This will also be a limited offer, but is just one more way that our customers can save on Windows 7.

Update on Windows 7 in Europe

If you need an operating system now, then you can download the Windows 7 Enterprise 90-day trial which you can get here. Though, when you receive your retail copy of Windows 7, you will be required to do a clean installation. You won't be able to simply upgrade from the trial.

Bloody microsoft, they wont be happy until they have all the money in the world :(

*Sigh*
Once again
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium - £150 at Official release day.
OS lasts for average 3 years.
£50 per year or less than £2 per week to use the OS.

Deals around at the moment mean you can get HP for a lot less than £150.

And you still feel this software is overpriced?

Don't use their software then? - there are always free alternatives if you think the cost is too great..

Yes there are alternatives and I never said the cost was too great.

As I said above I didnt say it was overpriced!
My comment meant that microsoft are very good at getting every penny they can. I have pre-ordered Win7 already and for £150 I am now condidering getting the family version for the 3 other systems in the house.
I hadnt even considered it before.
