Love windows 7 except for this networking problem I'm having.

I share a directory with lots of folders and some folders contain a bunch of files. Windows 7 just seems to pick and choose which folders and files I'm allowed to access from other computers. Same from which ever PC or laptop XP or Vista I try and access to the Windows 7 PC.

Sometimes it will just not show some folders at all just a select few. Is there a Windows 7 network bug or fix? ...because its really anoying me now.

Some other shares work just fine, I just cant understand it

Well I found a weird solution to this problem a couple of minutes after posting the above. Just have not had time to get back to this.

If you share one of the folders that is not sharing properly within your main share directory, and share it with "Everyone". Then it and all the other sub-folders and files start sharing properly as they should. For some reason some sub-folders and files do not always inherit the share properties of their parent-folders. That make any sense?

Its just the one folder with tons of folders and files in it that gave me this problem. All my other shares have always worked perfect. So most people may never come across the problem.

There's a possiblity the security, and not the sharing, permissions were set incorrectly on the subfolders.

Sharing it separately may have changed these - though pre-Windows 7, I don't think it ever did this, so it's a bit of a guess.
