Hi all

Just installed Windows 7 Home Premium since my beta was due to expire at the end of this month. Now I have this strange problem whereby the icons on my main toolbar (the one with the clock in the bottom right hand corner of the taskbar) keep disappearing. My taskbar is set to auto-hide and the only way to get the icons back is to untick auto-hide and re-tick it, or reboot.

Googled to no avail - has anyone else had this and resolved it?

Incidentally in case anyone reading this cars: I read about a good trick on how to make the recycle bin look like it's pinned to the taskbar; create a shortcut to the recycle bin and create a new toolbar on the taskbar that points at that folder...no need for any desktop icons!

Thanks.

Just to the left of the clock you will see a little triangle. Click this and it will display all your System Tray icons. Now click the blue Customize text.

Every item in the System Tray will be listed in the window that opens, and next to each a drop-down box with 3 options:

Show icon and notifications
Hide icon and notifications
Only show notifications

By default each icon is set to the third option. To only show when the icon changes/notifies you of something. If you want some to always show, choose that option.

Thanks but by disappearing I mean the entire toolbar is gone, i.e. there's no triangle and therefore no customise option. This is a glitch that means that the whole thing disappears occasionally when the auto-hide taskbar option is checked.

Maybe it's a GFX driver thing .

Hmm. possibly Diggsy, doesn't describe my problem exactly in that it doesn't mention that it only happens when the taskbar is set to auto-hide, but I'll try tonight anyway. Thanks.
